New year, new adventures. 


We’ve wrapped up another successful year with Zoo Knoxville — complete with a long list of wildly fun projects and micro campaigns. From an exciting new habitat to a workshop drawing in people from around the world, here’s a quick look at what we’ve been working on at Designsensory.

For our first big project of 2018, we celebrated the opening of Langur Landing and Gibbon Trails—in a number of fun ways. The newest habitat, voted one of the “Ten Best Animal Exhibits in the Country” by USA TODAY, connects to Tiger Forest via a three-story, 45-foot treehouse. We partnered with Elastic Pictures to create an animated, 30-second spot to promote the zoo’s exciting new expansion. The video had a playful focus on Arya, the zoo’s Malayan Tiger, and her noisy new neighbors. We had a blast celebrating Arya’s arrival, too. You can see that here. Our friends at Elastic also built a 360° render of the new exhibit, truly bringing out the kid in all of us. This interactive experience was designed to make you feel like you were really in the exhibit, and it was a top-performer for Zoo Knoxville on social media. Give it a try. How many langurs and gibbons can you spot? The official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Langur Landing and Gibbon Trails took place in March of 2018, and we look forward to making many more memories there.

As one of the premiere zoos in the Southeast, Zoo Knoxville wanted to offer a premiere experience to its patrons, and the Designsensory team was fit for the challenge. We designed, promoted and launched the “Red, White and Zoo” contest in July, offering a VIP experience in Zoo Knoxville. Winners received complimentary admission, a behind-the-scenes animal tour, a yummy lunch, unlimited rides on the Zoo Choo Train and Fuzzy Go-Round and much more.  Zoo Knoxville even distributed coupons for additional adventures— just for entering. The contest was wildly successful, garnering more than 1,000 entries in just a few hours. nd this is where you content will go.

From there, we refreshed creative for Feast with the Beasts. Feast with the Beasts is Zoo Knoxville’s annual wine, food and brew event that features samples from dozens of area restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries. This year, Zoo Knoxville and Designsensory partnered to refresh the identity of the long-standing, annual event. With a new logo and landing page, attendees were all set to eat, drink and be merry at Zoo Knoxville in August.

In October, Zoo Knoxville welcomed gorilla keepers, researchers, enthusiasts and more for the 2018 International Gorilla Workshop. Our team developed a microsite to provide visitors with accommodations, a schedule of events, a list of keynote speakers and more. The hands-on workshops focused on gorilla care and conservation.
