Since its founding in 1912 by the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for women, Arrowmont has grown from a settlement school to a world-renowned center for arts and crafts education. To continue its legacy of fostering creativity, Arrowmont required a digital overhaul and strategic marketing solutions to attract new audiences and amplify its global reputation.

    Evolving a Legacy Brand

    A dynamic identity system rooted in participation, personalization, and artistic intent.
    With over a century of influence, Arrowmont is one of America’s most storied schools of arts and crafts. As they marked 80 years as a formal institution, we were tasked with reimagining the brand—honoring its legacy while designing for the future. We developed a new brand strategy, refined the core visual identity, and built a flexible design system that could adapt across audiences and channels.

    The Handcrafted Brand: A New Visual Language for Arrowmont

    At the heart of the new system is the Arrowmont “Alpha,” a foundational symbol intended for reinterpretation. Artists are encouraged to create their own version of the Alpha, reinforcing a brand that is both deeply personal and inherently collective.

    The Mindspace of the Artist: A Modular Design Philosophy

    Supporting this is the concept of the “mindspace of the artist”—a modular design philosophy that informs brochures, presentations, and digital communications. Each piece is composed using custom textures, tools, and elements layered into background, midground, and foreground—visually echoing the creative process itself.

    The result is a brand that reflects not just where Arrowmont has been, but where it’s going: a legacy brand made new through the hands of those it inspires.

    Custom Registration System

    Engineering Simplicity for a Seamless Arrowmont Experience
    We streamlined Arrowmont’s registration process with a custom Laravel system, integrating Filament for ease of use. To support donations, we revamped the Blackbaud system with a fresh front end. LiquidWeb’s managed WordPress hosting ensured speed, reliability, and security, enhancing the overall user experience. These improvements have led to massive boosts in student registration numbers year-over-year.
