Gatlinburg SkyLift Park was founded in 1954, and with the addition of its new SkyBridge attraction in May of 2019, the park is now the oldest and newest attraction in Gatlinburg. Only the biggest celebration would work for a milestone like this one, and we were happy to help.
Designsensory partnered with Boyne Resorts and Gatlinburg SkyLift Park to help plan and oversee a successful, invitation-only event for the grand opening of the breathtaking SkyBridge and the expansive new SkyDeck. From available parking to commemorative posters, our marketing and account teams organized the celebration down to the last detail.
Complete with a beautiful, custom invitation created by our talented team of designers, the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Sevier County and City of Gatlinburg officials, Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau and many major media outlets attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration.
Our on-site team ensured that all guests were entertained—while coordinating with members of the media, implementing the run of show, assisting vendor partners and more. Some of the guest speakers included Commissioner of Tourism, Mark Ezell; Stephen Kircher, President of Boyne Resorts; Mark Adams, President of Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau; Mike Warner, Mayor of Gatlinburg and Cindy Ogle, Gatlinburg City Manager.
Directly after the event, the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park officially reopened to the public, allowing event attendees to ride the historic lift and be among the first to walk across the 680-foot pedestrian suspension bridge. We captured a host of impressive photos and drone video of the event, taking in some of the best views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park—a record setting day that our DS team won’t soon forget.
