A Blount County treasure, Cades Cove is a broad valley surrounded by mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The 11-mile loop usually takes about 2 to 4 hours to enjoy and offers some of the best opportunities for wildlife viewing in the Smokies.
Blount Partnership came to Designsensory looking for a better way to connect their visitors to this gem and the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies.” We gladly took on the challenge, and our talented tech and design teams developed a digital park guide to store Cades Cove information and updates in one easily accessible place.
The guide, a full-service microsite and application, ensures visitors will see and learn all about the beauty in Cades Cove. We wanted to build a tool that was easy to use and available on both iOS and Android, even when wifi is limited. The Cades Cove app allows guests to view points of interest as a list or within a customized, interactive map. Visitors can click on the points of interest to provide photos, quick facts, hidden treasures and related content, enhancing their experience in nature.
It was important to both Designsensory and Blount Partnership that the Cades Cove app encourage user-generated content in a safe and convenient way. We added a dedicated “Stories” section for park-goers to share their own experience and photos. We look forward to the tales told around the loop.
The Cades Cove app will launch soon— waiting for your next adventure. Check it out and let us know what you think.
