First Class Fashion: Another Successful Event for Goodwill.
Continuing our decade-long support of Goodwill, Designsensory had the pleasure of conceptualizing and creating branding materials for the Vintage Fashion Show and Sale, a public fundraising event by Goodwill Industries, Inc., now in its 34th year. Together, we continue to increase awareness about the event and its cause, capturing lovers of both philanthropy and high fashion.
This year’s concept references the celebrated style of mid-century travel and tourism posters. The centerpiece of the system is a poster design that features a collage of custom-illustrated and appropriated art elements. Summery florals telegraph a sense of exotic destinations and fashion-forward adventures. Sourced art of a stylish woman brings an aura of femininity, romance and personality to the composition, while local imagery, including the Sunsphere—a Knoxville icon—references the event’s new location at World’s Fair Park.
The concept extended to other event materials. The evening’s program mimicked a well-worn passport, carrying the vintage travel theme forward with “stamps” of sponsor logos and a traditional black-and-white passport photo. Other paraphernalia included print ads of similar tone, capturing the romance of the golden age of travel.
Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. provides vocational services and job opportunities for people with barriers to employment, and proceeds from the event goes toward this endeavor. We are proud to be, as they said it, “joining together to improve lives in our community.”
