Originally from the Nashville area, Rachel fell in love with the mountains of East Tennessee during her time at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. While in pursuit of her degree in journalism and electronic media, she landed a job as an editor and photojournalist at WBIR, the NBC affiliate in town. From the late nights cutting video to the weekend interviews and the dozens of articles drafted, she deepened her passion for telling stories.
The opportunity to be a general assignment reporter opened up in Kingsport (thankfully still surrounded by those beautiful mountains), and she moved to work for WKPT, the ABC affiliate. After a stint in the Tri-Cities, she returned to Knoxville to tell feature stories. If there is anything that Rachel learned in her journalism career, it is that advocating for the community is imperative. She carries that with her each day at Designsensory. Rachel is currently pursuing her Accreditation in Public Relations.
She loves to talk about her precious daughter, Katherine, and when they aren’t watching Moana for the millionth time, you’ll find Rachel and her husband cheering on the Vols. She’s happiest on a Caribbean cruise with a fruity cocktail in hand and is always looking for a new television show to binge-watch. She also has the two coolest hound dogs named Coach and Milo.
