The zoo in review.


Time flies when you’re having (wild) fun! We’re thrilled to end another year with Zoo Knoxville on a high note with a series of successful and engaging micro campaigns to share with its visitors in 2019. 

We started the year with a cheeky advertising campaign emphasizing some of Zoo Knoxville’s most popular exhibits like Asian Trek, Langur Landing and Gibbon Trails, and the Giraffe Encounter. Guiding more people to the zoo with creative billboards, rack cards, digital and more, Designsensory used a fun play on words like “Quit Lion Around,” “No Butts About It” and “You Otter Be Here” in local and feeder markets. 

Next, we placed traditional and digital media for the inaugural Wild Vine wine sampling event in April. The event featured more than 30 wineries from around the world with red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines, and 100% of the proceeds went toward the zoo’s conservation work that is helping to save animals from extinction. From Wild Vine to Brew at the Zoo, the year was wildly fun and spirited at Zoo Knoxville. Our creative team promoted the event with fresh copy and imagery, and we handled all media for the second annual after-hours party with the animals.  

To round the year out, we created a logo for Winter Nights at Zoo Knoxville, and we launched our yearly holiday annual pass media campaign with social videos starring one of Zoo Knoxville’s most popular residents: Einstein. We recorded her saying some of her most popular phrases—encouraging viewers to buy an annual pass and enjoy her antics year-round.
