While all part of one national brand, each of Outward Bound’s 11 regional schools has a slightly different flavor. Outward Bound wanted to recognize and celebrate the differences among schools while extending the national brand and maintaining the ease of use that we developed for the new national site.
Designsensory’s design and tech teams maintained a similar site design, structure and user interface for the regional schools, but incorporated custom features to set each one apart. First, original video and photography of the areas help to bring each school’s story to life in a tangible—and often breathtaking—way. For example, the opening video of Table Rock showcases the green, rugged beauty of Western North Carolina.
Additional customization includes allowing each school its own secondary color in the Outward Bound palette. When needed for function, we’ve created custom one-off pages for course life and photo portals.
